Welcome to the website of Hampshire / Franklin County IAABO Board 28. As a member board of IAABO (International Association of Approved Basketball Officials), we are dedicated to providing the highest levels of professionalism and quality officiating to basketball programs throughout Western Massachusetts.
The Annual Hampshire-Franklin County All-Star Games were held March 16th, 2012 at Frontier Regional High School. The proceeds from the ticket sales, program advertisements, donations, and 50/50 raffles totaled nearly $4,800. When added to the almost $700 raised at this year's golf tournament, over $5,400 was contributed to the Casey Scholarship fund.
As a result of the successful fundraising, IAABO Board 28 is pleased to be awarding seven (7) Casey Scholarships to graduating high school seniors across Western Mass. We received a total of 19 applications for the scholarship, and the Scholarship Committee will be reviewing all of the applications in the upcoming weeks.
As we close the 2011-2012 season and move into the offseason, please take note of the following items:
- Final Board 28 ratings have been completed and the groups of 6 have been distributed to all members. The individual ratings will be sent out during the second week of April.
- The offseason is a great time to work on improving your officiating. There are many opportunities to work AAU, Summer Leagues, and other games.
- There are also numerous camps that take place throughout the region in the summer. Any member who attends an IAABO camp is eligible for a partial reimbursement from Board 28. For more information, contact Mike Churchill (mchurchill@iaabo28.org).
- If you have any changes to your address or contact information in the offseason, please send it to Mike Churchill (mchurchill@iaabo28.org) so that he can update the roster.
